The cost of the minimum grocery set has increased by 106 soms, reaching 7,338 soms.
Every week, we track prices in one supermarket for the same set of products. Below is the complete information on what is included in our grocery basket and the reasons for price changes.
It should be noted that prices may vary between supermarkets and markets. Stores often have discounted items.
Since the start of our monitoring in late October 2018, the cost of the grocery basket has increased by 4,068 soms. Since the beginning of this year, the increase has been 615 soms, and compared to the same period in 2025, it has risen by 1,272 soms.
Bread remains the most affordable product in our basket. Prices for fresh vegetables and fruits significantly impact the overall cost of the set.

Throughout 2025, the cost of the grocery basket increased by 686 soms. The lowest price was recorded on October 18 — 5,791 soms, while the highest cost was on December 6 — 6,927 soms.

The nutritional standards for citizens of Kyrgyzstan were approved back in 2009, according to which each resident should consume nine types of products monthly.
This standard includes: 9 kg of bread products, 5 kg of meat, 8.2 kg of potatoes, 9 kg of vegetables, 10 kg of fruits and berries, 2 kg of sugar, 17 liters of milk, 1 liter of vegetable oil, 4 eggs, 100 grams of fish and fish products, and 200 grams of tea.

Based on the minimum norm established by the state, we calculated the cost of the grocery basket for a family of four, using prices from one of the supermarkets in Bishkek. Recently, many residents prefer to shop in large stores.
Undoubtedly, our calculations are approximate and based on official norms. Each person has their own dietary preferences, so our basket should not be perceived as the only possible option. It is more of a social experiment from 24.kg.
Grain products include both bread and pasta and cereals. Our family is average, so we prefer apples and bananas as fruits, and onions, carrots, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, and tomatoes as vegetables. We choose only the essentials, without excess.
