Starting from April 1 of next year, doctors and teachers will receive a 100% salary increase. This was announced by President Sadyr Japarov at the People's Kurultai.

According to the head of state, earlier Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev announced a plan to increase salaries by 50%. However, after analyzing the financial capabilities, it was decided to raise salaries by an average of 100% due to a new presidential compensation of 15,000 soms.

Currently, educators earn about 26,000 soms, and starting from April 1, 2026, their salary will be approximately 52,000. Doctors, who have an average income of 31,500 soms, will earn 62,500 soms, of which they will receive about 50,000 in hand.

Also, starting from April 1, the salaries of technical and service personnel will increase by 80% due to the introduction of a presidential compensation of 5,000 soms.

In the Chuy region, GKNB employees detained mayor Ruslanbek Tagaev, who is suspected of illegally issuing a permit for the extraction of sand and gravel on 20 hectares instead of the allotted 0.1 hectares. According to the investigation, the official acted in the interests of a relative and conspired with businessmen.

Before his appointment in March 2024, Ruslanbek Tagaev was the head of the Lenin district of Bishkek and was engaged in private business. Currently, law enforcement is searching for other participants in the criminal scheme.

Construction of a 32-kilometer eastern bypass road has begun in Bishkek. The new route will include an overpass bridge in the Kant area and five interchanges. The project also includes the reconstruction of sections of Leo Tolstoy, Akhunbaev, and Zhukeev-Pudovkin streets. The new transport artery is expected to relieve traffic congestion in the city center and redirect transit flows.
On Toktogul and Kiev streets, one-way traffic has been reinstated on sections from Ibraimov Street to Erkindik Boulevard due to the opening of Chuy Avenue after reconstruction.
The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan carried out its largest currency intervention this year, selling 179.5 million dollars to stabilize the currency market. This is already the eighth intervention since the beginning of 2025 and the largest in volume. In total, over the year, the bank has spent 853 million dollars to support the som's exchange rate.

Bishkek Mayor Aibek Junushaliev has instructed to restore the historical fountain that was built in 1956 in Dubovyi Park. “Collect all the pieces. If it hasn’t been completely broken, we will restore it,” he noted.

It should be noted that the fountain was completely demolished by city hall workers last weekend. Just a few hours before this, officials showed the media the designs of a new fountain that is planned to be installed in place of the destroyed one.

Interestingly, at the public hearings on the new general plan for the capital, representatives of the Institute of Prospective Urban Development from St. Petersburg reported that 381 heritage sites are registered in Bishkek. However, in recent years, at least 52 monuments have disappeared, including objects of history, art, and architecture.

According to the police, a conflict arose between the spouses, during which the man shot the woman six times. She died on the spot. The suspect has been arrested and was in a state of intoxication at the time of the crime. The deceased had previously reported domestic violence to law enforcement.

The murder of the mother of three children was commented on by the head of the GKNB Kamchybek Tashiev, who stated that such actions cannot be justified by emotions or intoxication.

“This is not a domestic quarrel, but murder, especially when the victim is a woman and a mother,” he emphasized, adding that the state is obliged to protect women and children, and anyone who raises a hand or weapon against a woman must understand that they will face serious and inevitable consequences.

The first solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan was opened in Kemin. The opening ceremony was attended by President Sadyr Japarov. The new power plant has a capacity of 100 megawatts and occupies an area of 230 hectares.
