During his speech, he outlined the forecast for government debt payments in US dollars for the coming years:
- 2025 — 857 million;
- 2026 — 1 billion 48 million;
- 2027 — 1 billion 277 million;
- 2028 — 1 billion 326 million;
- 2029 — 1 billion 326 million;
- 2030 — 1 billion 201 million.
“Starting from 2030, we expect a decrease in the amount of payments, and by 2035 we will be able to completely eliminate the state debt accumulated over the last three decades,” Japarov noted.
Earlier, the head of state emphasized that with the necessary resources, Kyrgyzstan could pay off its external debt in one day. However, this would be economically unfeasible due to penalties and interest on existing obligations. The country continues to adhere to the payment schedule, and in recent years, the share of debt in GDP has significantly decreased.
