According to the head of state, one of the reasons for this situation is corruption in driving schools that existed in the past. "I am forced to say an unpleasant truth: road accidents have become a national problem. For many years, driver's licenses were sold for money, and now we are facing the consequences of this corruption," he stated.
Sadyr Japarov also announced plans to introduce new training standards in driving schools starting next year. This includes strengthening control over their operations, complicating and making exams more transparent, as well as transitioning the process of issuing driver's licenses to a digital format.
The president emphasized that only those who are ready and capable should be behind the wheel of a car. "Only those who know the traffic rules, respect the lives of others, and understand their responsibility should get behind the wheel. A person's life is the highest value of our society," he concluded.
