At the IV People's Kurultai, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, raised an important issue regarding the safety of women and children, emphasizing its critical significance for society and the state.
He pointed out the alarming increase in cases of violence, which, in his opinion, damages the reputation of society and undermines its core values.
“A society that shows aggression towards the weak cannot be considered civilized. We have no right to tolerate this. The state will take strict measures. Every criminal who commits violence against women or children will be punished — this is our unwavering position,” he emphasized.
The president also noted that the National Development Program until 2030 includes initiatives to combat violence against women and children. However, in his view, legal measures alone are not enough; a transformation of social culture is necessary.
“No traditions, customs, or circumstances can justify violence. Every father must raise his son to respect women, and every mother must teach her daughter to defend her honor and stand against violence. Only in this way can we create a society where women are respected and children are safe,” the president concluded.
