At the IV People's Kurultai, held today, President Sadyr Japarov emphasized that the effectiveness of reforms, the stability of the country, and the trust of citizens in the authorities directly depend on the functioning of the judicial system. He noted that the judicial system is not just a branch of power, but the final instance that embodies justice and honesty, serving as the foundation for trust between citizens and the state.
“Injustice in court is an indicator of the weakness of the state, signaling corruption and backwardness. People have a lot of dissatisfaction with the work of the courts, which is related to frequent judicial errors. A judge must combine strictness with humanity, be fair and honest, like a wise mentor,” the president noted.
Sadyr Japarov added that significant work has been carried out in the country to modernize the judicial system. Judges' salaries have been increased, and conditions have been created for their independence so that they can live decently without the need for outside assistance. Every judge must understand the importance of the people's trust: if the state fulfills its obligations, then the courts must prove their reliability.
“Corruption and pressure are unacceptable. A judge who sells their decisions violates the law, undermines the authority of colleagues, and threatens the foundations of the state. I urge all workers in the judicial system to remember: those who do not want to act honestly and fairly will be excluded not only from the system but also from all significant processes in the future. The state will continue to develop the judiciary, enhance the qualifications of judges, provide them with decent conditions, and protect them from pressure. Every decision you make must be based solely on the law, for the people see and evaluate your work. The strictest judge of our activities is the people,” concluded Sadyr Japarov.
