Sadyr Japarov, the President of Kyrgyzstan, announced at the People's Kurultai that the main celebrations for Independence Day will take place in the Talas region in 2026.

The head of state emphasized that the authorities aim to strengthen unity among the regions, and for this reason, the celebrations will move across the cities of the country. This year, on August 31, the event featuring the president will be held in Talas.

He added: "The Talas region will be the site of the 35th anniversary of independence celebrations in 2026. This decision highlights the significance of all regions of our country."

It is worth noting that previously, the main events in honor of Independence Day were held in Bishkek. However, starting from 2023, official celebrations with the participation of high-ranking officials have been taking place in the regions, while a festive program is organized in the capital at Ala-Too Square.
