Speaking before the delegates, the president noted that in recent years there has been an increase in cases of violence against women and children, which raises deep concern.

Sadyr Japarov pointed out that a society that allows violence against the weak cannot be considered civilized.

“Government agencies intend to take strict measures against criminals who commit violence against women and children. We will not allow anyone to escape punishment for such acts,” he emphasized.

The president also reported on the adoption of a number of laws aimed at combating domestic violence and noted that the National Development Program until 2030 pays special attention to eradicating violence against women and children. However, according to him, the main changes must occur within each individual, and it is necessary to change societal norms.

“No traditions or circumstances can justify violence. Every father should teach his son to respect women, and every mother should raise her daughter so that she can defend her dignity and withstand humiliation. Only in this way can we create a society where women are respected and children are protected,” the president concluded.

Recently, on December 23, a shocking incident occurred in Bishkek when a former law enforcement officer shot his wife on the day of their divorce.
