A resident of the village of Jazy-Kechuu in Kara-Kul, 42-year-old Maigulu Kultaeva, received her unusual name thanks to a friend of her father's, known as "ayash ata."

Maigulu, born on May 1, 1983, in the village of Uch-Terek in the Toktogul district, has been working in the education sector for 20 years. She is married and raises four sons.

By profession, she is a primary school teacher. Since 2005, Maigulu has been teaching the youngest children who are just starting their journey in school.

Currently, she holds the position of deputy director for educational and upbringing work and acts as the director at the T. Temirov Secondary School.

According to Maigulu herself, her name was chosen by her godfather. "I was named Maigulu, which means 'May flower,' in honor of my birthday on May 1. My godfather wanted my name to be associated with the flowers that bloom in this month. When people first hear my name, they often express surprise and ask again. Until 2001, I had not met anyone with the same name. But once, when I came to check the exam results at the university, I saw my name—Kultaeva Maigulu—in the list for the budget group.

In the list for the contract group, there was another girl named Abdyrahmanova Maigulu. I was so happy to learn that there was someone else with the same name. My mother, who is now retired and used to work as a midwife, once assisted a friend in childbirth, and she named her daughter after me—Maigulu. Now there are two Maigulus in our village. Everyone who knows me says that I always smile and am in a good mood. This is certainly one of the best characteristics I have been given. And since my name means 'May flower,' I love all flowers, especially roses," she shared.
