The Jogorku Kenesh approved amendments to the law reducing the number of types of state awards.

On February 19, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, a draft law on state awards, honorary titles, and prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic was adopted in the first reading. The initiator of this draft law was the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Justice Minister Ayaz Bayetov noted that as a result of the proposed changes, the number of types of state awards will be reduced from 46 to 20.

Among the awards and titles being eliminated, the following can be highlighted:

At the same time, it is proposed that the functions of establishing the Honorary Diploma and the titles "Deserved" will be transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers.

Instead, two new honorary titles are being introduced: "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn jaratmany" and "Kyrgyz Respublikasynyn syymygy."
