According to Nadyrbekov, the closure of libraries became necessary due to their inefficiency, unsatisfactory condition of the buildings, and the fact that many of them were no longer operational. As a result, the total number of libraries in the country was reduced to 846, and the number of employees stands at 3,455.
Additionally, some libraries have implemented digitization. As part of these initiatives, the portal of the National Electronic Library NEB.KG was created, which is available in electronic format, as noted by the Deputy Minister.
He also reported on the launch of regional websites, the first of which was narynlib.kg. In the first phase, the formation of electronic catalogs for each library began, as well as the implementation of online reporting and the use of Google Forms, he added.
