Inspections reveal violations only on a scheduled basis; agencies get involved after a tragedy
In 2025, 19 accidents with fatal outcomes were recorded at construction sites. This was reported by Cholponkul Madiyarov, Deputy Director of the Labor Law Compliance and Supervision Service, during parliamentary hearings dedicated to the "Occupational Safety" bill.
He noted that all tragedies occurred directly at the workplaces.
According to Madiyarov, issues related to ensuring safe working conditions can only be identified during scheduled inspections.
From the beginning of excavation work until the completion of construction, matters concerning technical safety and working conditions fall under the jurisdiction of the inspection, which is subordinate to the Ministry of Construction. Specialists from this agency carry out the necessary activities.
"Unfortunately, we are forced to get involved in the situation only after accidents occur. Nevertheless, at the beginning of each year, we distribute warning notices throughout the republic at construction sites, as every employer is required to create proper working conditions for their employees," he added.
