According to the information from the ministry, the new point will contribute to improving road safety, monitoring compliance with established weight and dimension norms for freight vehicles, and will also help prevent premature road deterioration. In addition, this initiative aims to reduce the number of illegal and excessive transportations, maintain road infrastructure, and strengthen order in the transport sector.
It is also planned to carry out phased major repairs of existing transport control points that have not been updated for many years.
It is important to note that the funding for the mentioned construction and repair works will be provided from the Stabilization Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic.
