TSUM 'Aichurek' stated its non-involvement in the Old Bishkek project

On February 19, the mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, and members of the urban planning council conducted an inspection of the construction process on Chuy Avenue. During the inspection, special attention was paid to the preservation of green spaces and fountains. As a result of the inspection, it was revealed that the new facility being built near TSUM "Aichurek" does not comply with the approved project solutions and urban planning requirements.

In this regard, JSC "TSUM 'Aichurek'" decided to make the following clarifications.

"The land plot on which the 'Old Bishkek' project is being implemented is not owned by JSC 'TSUM 'Aichurek'. It was transferred under a sales agreement and has been duly transferred to LLC 'Central Aizhan Trade Company'. Since the state registration of the transfer of ownership rights, our company is neither the owner nor a participant in this project.

JSC 'TSUM 'Aichurek' does not act as a developer, investor, or responsible party for the design and execution of construction works. All decisions regarding the architecture and technical characteristics of the facility are the responsibility of the rights holder and the developer.

Nevertheless, JSC 'TSUM' supports the ideas of preserving green and fountain areas, as well as adhering to urban planning norms and the interests of local residents.

Despite the fact that the new complex does not fall under our jurisdiction, we consider it important to notify that TSUM initiates the demolition of this structure within the established timeframe, according to the instructions of the mayor of Bishkek," the message from JSC clarifies.
