Kyrgyzstan exported 3.886 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 2025

Last year, Kyrgyzstan exported 3.886 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. This was reported by the Minister of Energy Talaybek Ibraev at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with industrial policy, transport, and the energy complex.

Ibraev noted that in 2025, the republic produced a total of 15.4 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. Of this amount, 12.9 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by hydroelectric power stations, 2 billion by thermal power stations in Bishkek, and 450 million by small hydropower plants.

"At the same time, consumption amounted to 19.3 billion kilowatt-hours. The missing volume of electricity, 3.886 billion kilowatt-hours, was imported from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia," he added.

According to NESK, last year, 26,448 new subscribers were connected to the electrical network, which corresponds to a capacity of 1,974 megawatts of electricity.
