Residents of the social town in the village of Petrovka, located in the Moscow district of the Chui region, expressed dissatisfaction regarding inflated electricity bills.

The village of Petrovka serves as the administrative center of the Tört-Gül rural district. In the social town built here in 2017, 20 families reside. Last week, during a meeting with the presidential representative in the region, Azamat Osmonov, a resident of the town, single mother Aida Chodueva, raised the issue of what she believes are unjustifiably high electricity charges. "This issue has not been resolved for 8 years. Who has the power to solve this? Every month, we receive bills from the RES (district electric networks) with overcharges of 20,000 to 30,000 soms. The RES points to the village council, and the village council points to the akim," she said.

The presidential representative in the region instructed the akim to provide explanations regarding the situation. District head Niyazbek Kozyuev noted that the building of the social town in Petrovka was constructed illegally. "It was built by sponsors. Considering your needs, the town was constructed under conditions that do not meet any requirements or standards. That is why everyone avoids responsibility. Nevertheless, appropriate measures are currently being taken regarding this issue," the akim reported.

"Remove this extra markup. We will only pay for what we have consumed ourselves. There are people with disabilities, widows, and single mothers living here," Chodueva appealed to the leaders.

For his part, the head of the village council of the Tört-Gül rural district, Jenish Baisuldaev, stated that the social town was built in 2017. "The buildings were constructed from concrete bricks. At that time, there wasn't even a project. Therefore, the question of demolishing it was even considered," he said.

As a result of the meeting, the presidential representative in the Chui region instructed local authorities to create a commission.

The head of the village council, Tört-Gül Jenish Baisuldaev, reported that the construction of the social town was carried out in 2017 without the necessary project documentation. "The buildings were built from concrete bricks, and at that time, there wasn't even a project. Given this, the question of demolition was even considered," he explained.

As a result of the meeting, the presidential representative in the Chui region instructed local authorities to form a commission to clarify the circumstances.
