
The winners of the championship and the competition in Shotokan karate-do have been determined in Bishkek
On February 21 and 22, competitions in Shotokan karate-do were held in Bishkek, organized by the city administration. About 450 athletes representing various sports clubs and sections of the capital participated in these events.
The tournament was divided into two key karate disciplines:
- kata — demonstration of technical skills, precision of movements, and inner concentration;
- kumite — matches where participants showcased speed, accuracy, and tactical thinking.
At the end of the competitions, winners and prize-winners in different age and weight categories were identified and awarded diplomas and medals.
In the team standings, the places were distributed as follows:
- 1st place — SKIF-Bishkek club (55 gold, 52 silver, and 58 bronze medals);
- 2nd place — STAR karate club (32 gold, 35 silver, and 24 bronze medals);
- 3rd place — Shito-ryu karate club (1 bronze medal).
