Kyrgyzstan Won Three Bronze Medals at the Turkish Open Karate

The national team of Kyrgyzstan successfully completed its performances at the Turkish Open Karate international tournament, which took place in Istanbul from December 12 to 14.

About 1,700 athletes from 35 countries participated in this competition. Kyrgyzstan was represented by 11 karateka, who ultimately won three bronze medals.

The bronze medals in individual categories were awarded to Raid Abodzhmey in the age group of 8–9 years in the weight category up to 30 kg (kumite) and Nurtilek Saidov among boys aged 16–17 years in the weight category up to 55 kg (kumite). The youth team (16–17 years) also won a bronze medal in the team competition, consisting of Aydar Zholchiev, Timur Zholchiev, Aziz Muratov, and Emir Jalalov.

The team was led by the senior coach of the National Federation of Shotokan Karate-do of the Kyrgyz Republic, Abdybek Apsatarov.

The Turkish Open Karate is one of the most prestigious international tournaments, attracting the strongest athletes from around the world every year.
