An important decision to transition the checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border in the Talas region to a round-the-clock operation was made during a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 25.

During this meeting, the chairman of the State Border Service, Abdikarim Alimbaev, reminded attendees about the signing of the protocol to the agreement between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, which took place on August 22, 2025.

According to the head of the State Border Service, the changes in the status of the checkpoint are aimed at creating comfortable conditions for crossing the border for both individuals and vehicles. This will also contribute to an increase in the flow of goods and passengers, attract foreign tourists, and improve infrastructure.

Members of the Jogorku Kenesh supported the ratification of this protocol.
