“The stand-ups will be so patriotic that someone might think Vladimir Solovyov is a foreign agent.”
Nurlan Saburov, a Kazakh comedian, recently performed in Phuket. His activities are under the scrutiny of Kazakhstan's special services, and he has also been banned from entering Russia. This was reported by Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak on her Telegram channel.
Saburov humorously reacted to the support, including from Sobchak, and noted that interest in his performances has not waned. He added that his future stand-ups will be “as patriotic as possible.”
The comedian jokingly said: “The stand-ups will be so patriotic that people might suspect Vladimir Solovyov of working for foreign states.”
We remind you that the ban on entering Russia was imposed by a court based on “the protection of national security and spiritual-moral values.” Saburov learned about the restrictions at Moscow's Vnukovo airport on February 7 when he returned from Dubai.
After that, he refused to comment on the situation, conducted a review of his social media posts, and returned to Kazakhstan, deciding that his lawyers would handle the matter.
On February 16, it became known that Kazakh special services had begun an investigation into Saburov regarding possible financing of one of the parties in the conflict in Ukraine.
