This year, 37 insurance cases have been registered
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the draft law "On Amendments to the Civil Code and the Law on Mandatory Insurance of Residential Premises Against Fire and Natural Disasters" was discussed, which was presented for the first reading.
Marat Pirnazarov, chairman of the State Service for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market under the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, outlined the main provisions of the document.
According to him, the purpose of the draft law is to improve the system of mandatory insurance for housing against various risks, including fires and natural disasters.
During the discussion, Deputy Altynbek Kylchbaev asked about the timelines and amounts of insurance payouts in the event of an insured event, particularly in the case of a fire.
In response, the speaker clarified that the maximum amount that can be received as an insurance payout is 1 million soms for urban areas and 500 thousand soms for rural areas. The payout period is up to one month.
Deputy Gulnara Akimbaeva inquired about who can act as a third party in the framework of mandatory insurance.
In response to Deputy Toktobubu Ashymbaev's question about the payouts made, the speaker reported that in 2024, 240 insurance cases were registered with total payouts amounting to 37 million soms, and in 2025, there were 247 cases with payouts of 32 million soms. This year, 37 cases have been recorded, with payout amounts totaling 10 million soms.
After the discussion, the draft law was approved by the deputies in the first reading.
