With the start of the new season for using electric scooters in Bishkek, the city hall has decided to temporarily and even fully block users who violate traffic rules. This became known from a statement by the press service of the city hall following a meeting with operators of e-scooter rental services, where the need for stricter control and the introduction of real sanctions was emphasized.
The meeting, held under the leadership of Ilyas Kolopov, gathered representatives of kicksharing companies that provide short-term electric scooter rental services in the city.
During the discussion, the importance of aligning the activities of operators with current legislation and traffic rules was emphasized, as well as ensuring order in the use of electric scooters in the city.
Representatives of kicksharing companies were recommended to enhance control over users, including the application of sanctions against those who violate traffic rules during the rental of electric scooters.
Particular attention was paid to the necessity of implementing effective accountability mechanisms, including the possibility of temporary or complete restriction of access to the electric scooter rental service for violators.
The Bishkek City Hall reminds residents and tourists of the importance of strictly adhering to safety rules when using personal mobility devices and urges them to take responsibility for road safety, contributing to the formation of a culture of mutual respect and law and order in the urban environment.
