The Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovations of Kyrgyzstan has presented a draft of new state educational standards for medical education, which has been published for public discussion.

As part of this project, it is proposed to approve educational standards in the following areas:

The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I. Akhunbaev has been designated as the basic educational institution for the implementation of these standards.

The revision of educational standards has been prompted by changes in licensing requirements for universities that provide training in medical and pharmaceutical programs. In particular, the requirements for clinical bases for programs of secondary, higher, postgraduate, and additional professional education have been updated.

The creation of new educational standards has been made possible by the president's decree introducing a state monopoly on the training of specialists in the field of medicine.
