A successful test flight of a flying car developed by SkyDrive took place in Tokyo.

According to the company's official website, the SKYDRIVE SD-05 model, which was previously showcased at exhibitions including the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 and at the Osaka vertiport, participated in the trials.

During the demonstration flight, a route was taken from the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition complex to the seaside. As company representatives noted, this technology allows for safe takeoffs and landings on building rooftops and in confined urban conditions, as well as in locations where space for large runways is limited.

Furthermore, SkyDrive emphasized that vertiports can be located not only on rooftops but also in parking lots of large shopping centers and in front of train stations, which enhances the accessibility of air transport as a daily means of transportation.

The flight lasted approximately 3.5 minutes, during which the vehicle covered a distance of 150 meters and ascended to a height of 13 meters. The control was carried out in automatic and remote modes, without the presence of a pilot on board.
