The company OpenAI, responsible for the development of ChatGPT, has released a report detailing instances of abuse of artificial intelligence. The document mentions the blocking of a network of accounts linked to the Russian military Telegram channel "Rybar".

According to information from OpenAI, the group used ChatGPT's capabilities to create content that was then posted on social media. These materials were prepared in Russian, English, and Spanish, and were subsequently published on accounts associated with "Rybar" as well as on the project's website.

The chatbot was also tasked with generating groups of comments in English. These messages were published on Telegram and the X platform from accounts that did not disclose their connection to the channel.

The report states that the main account requested a translation into English of a list of services that "Rybar" could offer its clients. This list included managing accounts on Telegram and X, developing a bilingual website aimed at an audience in Africa, placing paid publications in French-speaking media, and creating a network of accounts for disseminating information.

Some requests involved editing texts related to interference in electoral processes in African countries. Specifically, these concerned information campaigns targeting the Democratic Republic of the Congo, elections in Burundi and Cameroon, as well as Madagascar, including incitement to protests.

According to Russian news outlets, the Telegram channel "Rybar" has over 1.5 million subscribers. It was founded by Mikhail Zvinchuk, who previously worked in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and his colleague Denis Shchukin. Earlier, The Bell reported on a possible connection between the founder of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, and the financing of this project.
