The designer received special permission
Ernist Zheentaev, convicted in a case related to calls for mass unrest, received permission from President Sadyr Japarov for a temporary release from the investigative isolation facility. This decision was made so that the designer could say goodbye to his mother, who passed away on February 26. This information was provided by his relatives.
The funeral will take place tomorrow in the village of Temir, located in the Issyk-Kul region. Relatives and friends have expressed their condolences to the Zheentaev family.
It should be noted that Ernist Zheentaev worked in several media outlets. He was detained in November 2025 for his publications on social media. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced him to six years in prison under part 3 of Article 278 and part 1 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. Zheentaev's defense plans to appeal this sentence.
