The deputy proposed to create a 'little Venice' in the Karagachev grove

The unique territory requires attention and care

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ismanali Zhorov emphasized the condition of the Karagachev grove, located in the heart of the city.

According to him, this green zone includes the Komsomol and Pioneer lakes.

However, as the deputy noted, this area, which possesses unique natural value, remains without proper care. During the summer period, only one lake is operational, while the second and a large part of the forest are in a neglected state. Many trees are dying, the irrigation system is not functioning, sanitation is not being carried out effectively enough, and some areas have turned into dumps.

“We often discuss issues of environmental safety and the development of a green economy in the capital, but we cannot preserve such historical green legacies,” he said.

In this regard, Zhorov proposed to develop a separate municipal program for the Karagachev grove, conduct an inventory, restore the dried trees, and plant new seedlings.

He also suggested completely updating the irrigation and watering system, putting the lakes in order, and putting them into operation.

Moreover, he sees the potential for a phased transformation of this area into an eco-park, where pedestrian and bicycle paths would be created, safe lighting provided, and video surveillance installed.

Additionally, the deputy proposed to organize small boat stations, pedestrian bridges, and create a recreation area reminiscent of a “little Venice.”
