On the day of the incident, children of relatives were at the family's home, playing with Umar's brothers. While Khonzada was preparing food, the children tried to lift the baby but dropped him.
“We realized something was wrong by his crying. He had never cried like that before. We immediately called an ambulance, but his condition continued to worsen. At the hospital, we were told he had a brain hemorrhage. He spent 15 days in a coma, and during that time, the darkest thoughts came to me. I was afraid he might not survive,” recalls the mother.
After that, Umar developed osteomyelitis, and he urgently needed surgery.
“My son has been fighting for his health since birth. Now he needs another operation due to constant epileptic seizures. According to Turkish doctors, the seizures are caused by a hematoma that appeared after the fall. They are confident that removing the hematoma could improve his condition,” shares Khonzada.
Doctors assure that the surgery will give him a chance to start speaking and walking. That is exactly what I wish for my son,” says the mother with tears in her eyes.Currently, Umar is undergoing examination in Turkey. The cost of the upcoming surgery is $25,000, of which $15,000 has already been raised. If the family cannot gather the necessary amount, the surgery may be postponed.
