Local residents express dissatisfaction over closed access to the stadium

At a recent meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh committee, Deputy Sovetbek Rustambek uulu raised the issue of citizens' access to the running track at the Dolon Omurzakov Stadium.

He noted that the capital's residents are unhappy that the stadium is closed for free visits.

“Citizens are outraged. The running track should be accessible to residents. This is not a place that should only be opened for football matches once every two months,” the deputy stated.

In response, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, Urmat Asanbaev, reported that renovation work is currently being carried out at the stadium.

According to him, contractors are working on the phased installation of the track surface.

“The work has stopped at the stage of laying the third layer due to cold weather. When the temperature rises, we will continue the installation,” Asanbaev explained.

The deputy also emphasized that there are no other stadiums in the area, and the population is large. Many residents come to exercise early in the morning and late in the evening.

“From six to nine in the morning and from six to nine in the evening, people come to maintain their physical fitness. Previously, there were workout areas at the stadium, which have been removed, and they should be returned. Visitors should be treated with respect. According to local residents, stadium staff do not let them in and communicate rudely,” the deputy added.
