
According to information provided by the Supreme Court, 1,196 cases of domestic violence were reviewed during 2025. This is an increase of nearly 24% compared to the previous year.
Nurgul Bakirova noted that the statistical data highlights the importance of the issue of domestic violence and indicates an increase in the detection of such crimes, as well as a growing trust of the population in the judicial system.

Bakirova also emphasized that access to justice remains a crucial task for Kyrgyzstan; however, women still face economic and cultural barriers.
To effectively combat violence in the country, a National Strategy for Gender Equality is being implemented, aimed at 2030. This strategy focuses on improving legislation and supporting women's financial independence.
The forum in New York will run until March 19, 2026, with representatives from 107 countries participating. The session focuses on strengthening access to justice for women and girls.
