In the city of Kara-Kul, it is proposed to create a group where local residents can send photos and videos of traffic rule violations.
Among the participants were representatives of the city administration, local organizations and enterprises, as well as employees of the State National Security Committee (GKNB).
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the importance of actively using social media to raise awareness about traffic rules and reduce the number of accidents. Participants were urged to actively cooperate and were presented with data on the number of traffic accidents over the past two months and a half month.
The main task for the upcoming six months is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents compared to last year.
Additionally, the participants of the meeting proposed to create a special group on social media where residents could send photos and videos of traffic rule violations, which would help improve public oversight.
The city mayor noted that in Kara-Kul, where about 30,000 people live, there are only three traffic safety inspectors, so support from citizens is necessary.
There was also an initiative proposed to reward citizens who actively report violations with awards or letters of appreciation, which should serve as an additional mechanism for preventing traffic accidents.
During the discussion, participants paid special attention to the safety of children, and parents were recommended to educate their children about traffic rules right at home.
Furthermore, it was pointed out that Kara-Kul is located on the important Bishkek-Osh highway, and the 80-kilometer stretch that passes through the city includes dangerous and complex turns, including the Kök-Bel pass, which increases risks for road users.
It should be noted that most traffic accidents involve local residents, and in some cases, driving under the influence of alcohol is the cause of accidents.
As a result, the city authorities instructed the relevant services to increase the number of patrols and take strict measures against traffic rule violators, regardless of their status. The Road Maintenance Department No. 30 was also tasked with updating traffic signs.
Residents were reminded of the need to treat warning signs installed in hazardous areas with care, especially near educational institutions.
At the end of the event, participants were handed brochures with traffic rules.
Meeting participants noted that ignorance of traffic rules is one of the reasons for the increase in the number of traffic accidents.
