She reminded that in 2026, Kyrgyz cinema will celebrate its 85th anniversary. During this period, according to her, five films have been awarded the Grand Prix at A-class film festivals:
- “Manas” by Bolot Shamshiev, 1965;
- “Atanyn kereezi” (“Father's Testament”) by Bakyt Mukul and Dastan Japar uulu, 2016;
- “Tunku kyrsyk” (“Night Accident”) by Temir Birnazarov, 2018;
- “Kara Kyzyl Sary” (“Black Red Yellow”) by Aktan Arym Kubat, 2025;
- “Zhailoogo karay uzak zhol” (“Long Way to Jailoo”) by Ilgiz-Sherniaz Tursunbek uulu, 2025.
According to Ashymbaeva, “athletes receive apartments, cars, and money for their achievements, while young directors, who contribute to the development of culture, remain without support. This would be an important step forward,” emphasized the deputy, addressing the cabinet of ministers with a request to consider this issue.
