The festival "Spring of Francophonie 2026," organized by the French Alliance in Bishkek, will take place from March 25 to April 12. According to information from the French language and culture center, the event's program will cover cultural, educational, and entertainment events dedicated to the diversity and art of Francophone cultures. This year's main theme is "Women and Francophonie."
Among the festival's organizers are the embassies of France, Switzerland, and the European Union representation in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the embassies of Belgium and Romania in Kazakhstan and more than 20 partners from Kyrgyzstan.
Opening
The festival will open on March 25, 2026, at 18:30 with a concert by French pianist Kristina Fonlupt, who will perform a musical program dedicated to outstanding women. The concert will take place at the T. Satylganov National Philharmonic, and entry to the event will be free with the availability of free tickets.
From April 7 to 10, 2026, the "Ala-Too" cinema will host the Francophone Film Festival for the first time in Bishkek, featuring films from France, Switzerland, Belgium, and Romania. Entry to the screenings will also be free.
The first film to be screened at the festival opening on April 7 at 18:00 will be the Swiss film "Bon jour Ticino." The film will be presented in its original languages (French, German, Italian) with subtitles in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English. Tickets are available on the website www.kassir.kg.
The "Spring of Francophonie" program includes not only film screenings but also dance shows, fashion shows, tastings of Swiss and French wines, as well as drawing, writing, and singing contests, theatrical performances, and various conferences at universities.
In Osh, a series of festival events will also take place on April 27 and 28, 2026, including a concert by Kristina Fonlupt, a screening of the film "Bon jour Ticino," conferences, and other events.
