Today in Ozgur, located near the Osh region, a tree planting event took place at the site of an ancient cemetery. This event was dedicated to ecological restoration and greening of the area. The action began with the reading of the Quran in memory of the deceased, as well as with the blessing of local elders, as reported by the city administration.

The event was attended by Mayor Janarbek Akaev, Deputy Prime Minister Edil Baisalov, the ambassadors of France and Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan, as well as representatives from universities and local residents.

This cemetery has become the second site to undergo greening after the completed reclamation works. As part of the project, 250 seedlings of two types of trees, ash and maple, were planted over an area of 70 hundredths.
