Two boxers from Kyrgyzstan will compete for a place in the finals of the World Championship

At the World Boxing Championship organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), three Kyrgyzstani boxers entered the ring in the quarterfinal matches. The first among them to reach the semifinals was Omar Livaza, who competes in the weight category up to 63.5 kg. He won against Mahsud Hasmetov from Azerbaijan with a score of 1:4 and will now face Emmanuel Katema from Zambia for a spot in the final.

Ikhtiyar Nishonov also made it to the semifinals, competing in the category up to 71 kg. He defeated Vasile Chebotari from Moldova with a result of 4:3 and will now battle against Kazakhstani boxer Ablaykhan Zhusupov.

Unfortunately, the third Kyrgyzstani, Myrzakir Koshaliyev, could not advance further. He competed in the heavyweight category (over 92 kg) and lost to David Surov from Russia, ending his journey in the tournament.

Cash prizes are provided for the championship winners: $300,000 will go to the winner, $150,000 for second place, $75,000 for third, and those who finish in fifth place will receive $10,000 each.

The semifinal matches will begin at 19:00.
