Sensations and Gold: Results of the Sixth Day of the 2026 Olympics


The sixth day of the Olympic Games in Italy became a stage for numerous bright events and unexpected turns.

In women's snowboarding halfpipe, 17-year-old Gaon Choi from South Korea won the gold medal with a score of 90.25. She outperformed American Chloe Kim, who finished with 88.00 points while attempting to win her third consecutive Olympic title. The bronze went to Japan's Mitsuki Ono with a score of 85.00.

In men's freestyle mogul, Cooper Woods became the first Olympic champion from Australia. He scored the same number of points as Canadian Mikael Kingsbury, but his technique was rated higher. The third place was taken by Japan's Ikuma Horishima.

Snowboarders also competed in the cross: here, Alessandro Hemmerle from Austria claimed victory, beating Canadian Eliot Gronden by just 0.03 seconds in a photo finish. The bronze medal went to his compatriot Jakob Duzek.

In women's alpine skiing super-G, Italian Federica Brignone won gold with a time of 1:23.41. The silver medal went to Roman Miradoli from France, while the bronze was awarded to Austrian Cornelia Hütter.

In the team relay for luge, Germany took first place, followed by Austria with silver and Latvia with bronze.

In short track, the Netherlands excelled with two gold medals: Xandra Velzebur won in the women's 500 meters, while Jens van 't Wout took first in the men's 1000 meters.

In hockey matches, Canada confidently defeated the Czech Republic 5-0, the USA beat Latvia 5-1, Germany triumphed over Denmark 3-1, and Switzerland won against France 4-0.

The sixth day of the Games showcased a generational shift in sports: new talents are coming to the forefront, while experienced favorites sometimes face setbacks, making the battle for medals even more intense.
