Kyrgyzstan Athletes Won 3 Medals on the First Day of the Ranking Tournament in Albania

On the first day of the ranking tournament in sports wrestling in Albania, Kyrgyz athletes won three medals.

The tournament, which is the second in the 2026 ranking, began on February 25 in the capital of Albania, Tirana.

During the first day of the competition, six sets of medals were contested. Eight wrestlers from Kyrgyzstan participated in the tournament, but Bilol Sharip uulu was unable to compete due to injury.

Ernazar Akmataliev won gold in the 70 kg weight category, while his compatriot Zalkarbek Tabaldiev received a bronze medal in the same weight group. The silver medal in the 74 kg weight was won by Orozobek Toktomambetov, who lost in the final to a wrestler from Iran.

Meanwhile, Abdumalik Karachov (up to 57 kg), Bekzat Almaz uulu (up to 61 kg), Öskönbay Abdisamatov (up to 65 kg), Rustamzhan Kakharo (up to 70 kg), and Adilet Akmatbekov (up to 74 kg) were unable to win any medals.
