Abdumalik Karachov won the gold medal at the Islamic Games

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan, Abdumalik Karachov, won a gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games held in 2025 in Saudi Arabia.

Competing in the weight category up to 57 kg, he began his competition on November 20 with the quarterfinals, where he achieved a confident victory over Gulomjon Abdullaev from Uzbekistan, the bronze medalist of the 2024 Olympics and the 2025 World Championship, with a score of 10:2.

Then, in the semifinals, Karachov defeated the wrestler from Guinea, Mohamed Ismail Kamara, in 48 seconds, finishing the match by fall.

The final bout against Islam Bazarhanov from Azerbaijan also ended successfully for the Kyrgyzstani: he won with a score of 9:3, earning him the coveted gold.

Thus, this achievement became the second gold medal for Kyrgyzstan at this Islamic Solidarity Games: earlier, Akjol Mahmudov also celebrated victory.
