Mikheil Bekauri will play for the Kyrgyzstan national team

Judo athlete from Georgia Mikheili Bekauri will represent the national team of Kyrgyzstan on the international stage.

In January of this year, the 25-year-old athlete won a silver medal at the national championship held in Osh, taking second place.

Representing the SDYUSHOR "Olymp" from Bishkek, Bekauri reached the finals, where he lost to Daut Poltushev.

Additionally, he has been included in the national team of Kyrgyzstan to participate in the Grand Slam tournament scheduled for March 20-22 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Previously, Bekauri, representing Georgia, was a two-time winner of the European Cup for cadets in 2017 and also won the European Cup (U-21) in 2019.

His achievements also include a silver medal at the European Championship for cadets (2017) and a bronze medal at the European Youth Championship (2019).

After achieving 5th place at the European Youth Championship in Croatia in 2020, Bekauri temporarily suspended his competitions.
