Sanatorium "Djety-Oguz"
Location of the Sanatorium "Djety-Oguz"
Located on the northern slope of the Terskey Alatoo, in the Djety-Oguz gorge, at an altitude of 2200 m above sea level, near the Djety-Oguz rocks in the valley of the Djety-Oguz River, in one of the most picturesque areas with coniferous forests, 28 km from the city of Karakol and 392 km from Bishkek.
A variety of medicinal plants and deposits of unique mineral waters have made this resort a favorite place for those who care about their health and appreciate a pleasant and beneficial rest.
At the Djety-Oguz resort, winter is the coldest. The absolute minimum temperature can reach -24°. The winter period lasts here for up to 4.5 months (from the beginning of the second decade of November until almost the end of March). From December to February, moderately frosty weather predominates, often without wind and fog. Colder weather (Class XII) is rarely observed in Djety-Oguz, averaging about 9-10 days per winter.
The harshness of the winter period at the Djety-Oguz resort is determined by the stable influence of the anticyclone, significant altitude above sea level, and its intercontinental location. A remarkable feature of the winter period here is the significant stability of uniform weather. This contributes to the organization of climate therapy even in the winter season.
In Djety-Oguz, spring begins later than in other resorts. Only at the end of March does the average daily temperature rise above 0°. Frost-free weather at this time occurs no more than 2-3 days. Typical weather in March features temperature transitions through 0°; this occurs over a period of 22-23 days.
The probability of frost occurrence in this area on average remains until the beginning of the third decade of May.
The spring period is characterized by an increase in precipitation: it falls 100 mm more than in winter.
Relative humidity is close to the maximum value observed in winter. However, in the following months of spring, humidity becomes minimal, reaching 61%. This is 6% lower than the annual average humidity. In April, as in March, weather with temperature transitions through 0° predominates, with more sunny days and more frequent frosts. Frost-free weather can occur almost every other day, but this is more common in the second half of the month.
May at the Djety-Oguz resort is the warmest spring month, with weather featuring temperature transitions through 0° observed for 3-4 days, while the majority of the month is marked by sunny, moderately humid, and humid days. However, cloudy, overcast, and rainy weather can occur.
Summer at the Djety-Oguz resort begins in late June to early July. All summer months are characterized by the predominance of sunny, moderately humid, and humid weather. Here, every other day in summer can be sunny.
The beginning of autumn (in September) in the Djety-Oguz area is characterized by a large number of days with sunny, moderately humid, and humid weather. In October, alongside frost-free weather, temperature transitions through 0° are more frequently noted (about 28 days). In November, frost-free weather occurs only on certain days. The greatest number of days (97%) is marked by frosty, often sunny weather with thaws. The climate in winter in the northeastern and northern areas is the coldest. Significantly frosty and, on certain days, extremely cold weather occurs in January for up to 20 days. Weather with temperature transitions through 0° occurs rarely. Moving south, the frequency of frosty weather decreases, while the frequency of weather with temperature transitions through 0° increases (8-10 days in Yany-Kurgan). In the deserts of southern Central Asia, sunny weather with temperature transitions through 0° is typical (about 11 days) and frost-free weather (about 10 days).
In summer, in the northern part of the zone, hot and dry weather is observed for up to 13-15 days a month, and about 6-7 days of very hot and very dry weather with maximum temperatures reaching up to 40°. Moving south (the Bayram-Ali area), very hot and very dry weather can occur for up to 25 days a month with maximum temperatures reaching up to 46°. In the oases, the frequency of very hot and very dry weather is somewhat less than in the desert. Among local winds, there is a hot dry wind from the south and southeast, and the Afghan wind—a strong wind from the southwest or west, often accompanied by dust storms.

The temperature of the water in the baths ranges from 25 to 42 degrees Celsius.

The healing properties of the mineral springs of Djety-Oguz have been known to the local population since ancient times.

For baths, mineral waters of the 1st type are mainly used: from well No. 1 "K" (daily flow rate 208.2 m3, temperature 41° C, mineralization 12.1 g/l) and from well No. 6 (daily flow rate 229.8 m3, temperature 38.4° C, mineralization 10.1 g/l).
For drinking treatment, waters of the 2nd type are used (temperature 22.9° C, mineralization 3.6 g/l).
