
The new airport will be capable of servicing medium and large class aircraft
Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Prime Minister and head of the State National Security Committee, visited the construction site of the Jalal-Abad International Airport located in the Suzak district. This became known thanks to information provided by the Region channel.
During the inspection of the runway construction, Tashiev instructed the contractors to accelerate the pace of work and ensure stricter control over the quality of the construction tasks being performed.
About the characteristics of the new airport:
The airport is being constructed to the 4E standard, which will allow it to accommodate aircraft such as the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320/321, which belong to the medium and large class.
The length of the runway will be 3,800 meters.
As for the infrastructure: two taxiways and six parking spots for aircraft are planned.
The terminal will be a three-story building with a total area of 18,000 square meters, allowing it to service up to 350 passengers per hour.
The project is being implemented in phases, and the construction of the second phase is currently ongoing. The construction of the airport began on May 13, 2025.
