In the Jumgal district of the Naryn region, the newly formed song and dance ensemble "Bekbekey" participated in the "International Festival of Culture and Arts," which took place in eight cities across Turkey.

This was reported by the head of the ensemble, Baktygul Ryspaikyz.

According to her, the artists performed in the largest cities of Turkey, showcasing various types of national Kyrgyz dances, playing the komuz, and singing live in both Kyrgyz and Turkish languages.
The "Bekbekey" ensemble was one of the first to be created during the Soviet era from folk talents and has now been revived with the involvement of young performers. The delegation that visited Turkey included more than ten young men and women, as well as cultural figures. The delegation from Kyrgyzstan was led by Mira Toktogonova, a representative of the cultural sector known for organizing numerous international cultural festivals.

As Toktogonova recounted, during the trip, the ensemble members visited picturesque regions of Turkey, met with representatives of city and regional authorities, and held discussions about cultural cooperation between the two countries.

It is worth noting that representatives of Kyrgyz culture participate in such international festivals annually.

The legendary folk song and dance ensemble "Bekbekey" was founded in 1974 and became the first folk ensemble of the Kyrgyz SSR. In 2024, the ensemble, consisting of three generations of participants, celebrated its 50th anniversary in Jumgal and passed the creative baton to the dance group "Mürok," wishing it to continue the traditions of "Bekbekey." Less than a year later, the "Bekbekey" ensemble was recreated at the Jumgal District House of Culture.
