The Chubak Sataev Public Foundation and the Sanat.KG magazine held a ceremonial evening on December 29 to award the prizes - "Best of Kyrgyzstan - 2014".
As a result, the creative team of the "Kyrgyz Biy" project, led by producer Rysbek Jabirov, was recognized as the "Best Cultural Project of the Year".
The authors of the project were awarded a diploma and a statuette "For a significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyz culture and the popularization of national dance". The award was presented to the director of the music video "Kyrgyz Biy", Suyun Otkeev.
"Kyrgyz Biy" is a creative product of the "Kyrgyz Biy" project aimed at reviving folk dances, preserving, popularizing, and developing dance traditions. The idea's author is deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Altynbek Suimanov, who fully supported this project.
The project was led by the talented director and producer Rysbek Jabirov. The famous wordsmith Kyialbek Urmambetov wrote the lyrics, while Azamat Otunchiev and Mirlan Niyazov worked on the music and arrangement. The choreography was created by People's Artist of China Bakhtiyar Murat uulu, who conducted master classes for Kyrgyzstanis. It is worth noting that the original Kyrgyz elements of the dance have been preserved among ethnic Kyrgyz living in China. About 300 girls and boys participated in the filming of the music video for the song, which took place in seven regions of Kyrgyzstan, including dancers from China.
This year, "Kyrgyz Biy" gained widespread popularity and love; the revived Kyrgyz dance and song contributed to the development of culture and became a true treasure of the republic. This is evidenced by the recognition from the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as several media outlets that named the creative product of the eponymous project "Kyrgyz Biy" by Sultan Sadyraliev as the best.
In October, the dance group "Nazik" became the winner and Grand Prix holder of the international competition-festival of Kyrgyz folk dances. "Nazik" worked on the project for three months and performed the song "Kyrgyz Biy".
