VIK: Kyrgyzstanis Set a Record for Assembling a Yurt in 17 Minutes

Today in the Semenovskoye Gorge of the Issyk-Kul region, at the "Kyrchyn" pasture, where the ethno-village is located, there were demonstrations of the traditions and culture of Kyrgyz customs.
Guests were shown the speed of yurt installation.
According to the organizers, in 2006 Mongolia set its record by assembling a yurt in 1 hour and 12 minutes.
“Our yurts are different from Mongolian ones and may be more difficult to assemble. However, it is also not easy to assemble ours, as it consists of 36 elements. The slightest incorrectly installed detail will prevent the yurt from being assembled correctly. Only a knowledgeable person can handle it. This was a trial demonstration, and we succeeded,” said Beishembek Jumashaliev, chairman of the public fund "Kyrgyz Yurt".
He also noted that Kyrgyz yurts are known and stand in 16 countries around the world.
Speaking about the yurt, a famous French architect said that it is a unique architectural creation that is over 3,000 years old.
The ethno-village features 150 yurts, as well as specially made elements of the lifestyle of nomadic peoples of Central Asia.
Let us remind you that this event is organized as part of the first World Nomad Games, which are taking place on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul in the city of Cholpon-Ata from September 9 to 14. Seventeen delegations have arrived in Kyrgyzstan to participate in the games.
