Bukhantsev (Bukhantsov) Kirill Ivanovich

– assistant commander of the platoon of the 681st rifle regiment (133rd rifle division, 40th army, 2nd Ukrainian front), sergeant – at the time of his nomination for the Order of Glory 1st class.

Born on July 17, 1919, in the village of Lebedinka, now in the Alamudun district of Chui region, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, in a peasant family. Russian. Primary education. Worked in a collective farm, then in a production cooperative. In 1939, he was drafted into the Red Army by the Alamudun district military enlistment office.

The beginning of the Great Patriotic War found Bukhantsev on active service in the city of Ashgabat.

He received his combat baptism near Yelnya in July 1941. He fought on the Western, Southwestern, 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He was wounded twice but always returned to duty. A member of the VKP(b)/CPSU since 1944, he served as the party organizer of the company.

By the beginning of 1945, he was fighting as the assistant commander of the platoon of the 681st rifle regiment of the 133rd rifle division.

On February 6, 1945, in a battle near the settlement of Mitrovica (26 km southeast of the city of Zvolen, Slovakia), Sergeant Bukhantsev stealthily crawled up to an enemy trench, throwing grenades at the enemy machine gun, destroying its crew. In the first award sheet for Bukhantsev, it is noted: "On February 6, 1945, in a battle on the eastern outskirts of the village of Mitrovica (Czechoslovakia), performing the duties of the party organizer of the company, by his example of courage and bravery, inspiring the soldiers, skillfully advancing forward, he crawled up to the enemy machine gun, suppressed its fire with a grenade throw and destroyed its crew, thereby ensuring the passage for the soldiers advancing forward. He is worthy of the Order of Glory III class" ... By the order of February 23, 1945, Sergeant Bukhantsev Kirill Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory 3rd class (No. 225467).

On March 6, 1945, in a battle for the settlement of Leskovets (4 km east of the city of Zvolen, Slovakia), Sergeant Bukhantsev and his platoon broke through to its outskirts, secured themselves, and held the line until the main forces of the company arrived. In the battle, he personally killed 12 Germans. By the order of April 6, 1945, Sergeant Bukhantsev Kirill Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory 2nd class (No. 48023).

On April 9, 1945, Sergeant Bukhantsev was among the first to cross the Vah River, storming the Melchice station (10 km southwest of the city of Trenčín, Slovakia) with his platoon, killing 14 soldiers in the battle.

On April 13, during battles to expand and hold the bridgehead, early in the morning, using the last minutes of twilight, a "squadron" of improvised watercraft with two platoons of soldiers crossed another water barrier. The landing was discovered right at the shore, which saved the soldiers. The landing took place under artillery and rifle-machine gun fire.

Bukhantsev gathered his platoon, led them down the shore, and brought them to a cliff. Swiftly advancing forward, the platoon broke through the enemy's defenses and rushed to the Melchice railway station. After a brief skirmish, the station building was captured.

Soon the second platoon arrived. Together, they captured the entire station.

In battle, on the path of the battalion's advance, Bukhantsev personally destroyed 12 fascists in hand-to-hand combat. Despite being wounded, he did not leave the battle but continued to fire and command the platoon.
He was demobilized in 1945 and returned to his homeland.

By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946, for exceptional courage, bravery, and fearlessness displayed in battles against the German invaders, Sergeant Bukhantsev Kirill Ivanovich was awarded the Order of Glory 1st class (No. 3140). He became a full cavalier of the Order of Glory.

He lived in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Frunze (now Bishkek). For more than 20 years, he worked as a foreman at the household services combine.

He died on September 23, 1984.

He was awarded the Orders of the Patriotic War 2nd class, three Orders of Glory, medals, including the medal "For Courage."
