In Kyrgyzstan, there is a steady decline in the number of citizens registered as unemployed. This was reported in a live broadcast by Saadatkul Mukambetova, a leading specialist at the Employment Promotion Solutions Department of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration.
According to her, this decrease is related to the increase in the number of people working informally — without employment contracts or temporarily in seasonal jobs.
“Since the beginning of 2023, a social contract has also come into effect, which allows the unemployed to receive state payments for children. This has also contributed to the reduction in the number of officially registered unemployed. If from January to October of last year more than 70 thousand unemployed were registered, now this figure has decreased to about 50 thousand,” Mukambetova noted.She added that the ministry receives numerous inquiries from citizens wishing to consult on employment issues. Overall, the number of such inquiries has reached 120 thousand.
