Currently, there are about 4,000 units of agricultural machinery operating in the regions of Kyrgyzstan, belonging to 186 machine-tractor stations. Of these, 63 are municipal MTS, and 123 are private, reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The machine-tractor stations were organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry with the support of the State Government. The main goal of this project was to ensure the quality and timely provision of mechanized services for farmers, as well as to create conditions for the development of leasing and the renewal of the machinery fleet.
The implementation of this initiative began with the issuance of order No. 107-b dated March 17, 2016, which launched the organization of MTS to provide agronomic services in various regions of the country.
The distribution of machine-tractor stations by regions is as follows:
Naryn – 30, Issyk-Kul – 33, Osh – 19, Batken – 12, Chui – 39, Talas – 25, Jalal-Abad – 27.
