The Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, reported that the purchase price of raw milk in Kyrgyzstan depends on the time of year.
According to his information, from September 15 to March 15, dairy processing enterprises set prices in the range of 32 to 48 soms per liter. “In summer, the minimum purchase price is 32 soms, while in winter it can reach 48 soms. The services of milk collectors cost about 5 soms per liter,” he added.
Kerimaliev also noted that in Bishkek, the average price for a liter of milk is about 35 soms, to which 5 soms for collector services should be added.
Farmers representing the dairy industry also expressed their position. Aigul Nurumbetova, one of the milk producers, emphasized the importance of maintaining the purchase price of milk and rejecting seasonal price differentiation.
According to her, it is necessary to set the price at a level not lower than 40-45 soms, as feed prices have significantly increased, and many families depend on income from milk sales.
