A meeting of the railway leaders of the SCO countries took place in Bishkek. What was discussed?
According to the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," the agenda included issues related to the development of international freight transportation, modernization of railway infrastructure, and integration of various railway systems. An important point of discussion was the workforce and joint educational initiatives.
The General Director of "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," Azamat Sakiyev, reported a significant increase in freight volumes between Kyrgyzstan and other SCO countries, which amounted to about 30% over the past two years. He also noted the active participation of the republic in the creation of international transport corridors, which contributes to the growth of transit potential.
Sakiyev emphasized the importance of digitalization in the railway sector. In 2025, the launch of the "Unified Model of the Transportation Process" system is planned, aimed at increasing efficiency and simplifying interaction among market participants.
Delegates from the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives from the SCO Secretariat and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, attended the meeting.
This meeting serves as a platform for coordinating actions and developing joint solutions. It is expected that the agreements reached will contribute to the development of transit potential and increase the efficiency of international freight transportation.
