"Eldik Bank" gained access to billions from the Green Climate Fund

OJSC "Eldik Bank" has reached an important milestone, becoming the first financial institution in the history of Kyrgyzstan accredited by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). This fund is the largest mechanism in the world designed to finance environmental and climate projects. At the last GCF Council meeting, a decision was made to include "Eldik Bank" among its trusted partners, which serves as a kind of international "quality mark." This confirms the bank's compliance with the strictest standards of corporate governance and risk management.

For Kyrgyzstan, this accreditation opens new horizons for financial independence in the field of ecology. Now "Eldik Bank" can directly access GCF resources, bypassing intermediaries, which creates opportunities for attracting significant long-term investments. The priority remains projects related to energy efficiency, sustainable infrastructure, and protecting key economic sectors from climate change. The fund noted that the participation of "Eldik Bank" will activate the private sector and direct global capital towards implementing the country's environmental priorities.

Ulanbek Nogaev, the chairman of the bank's management board, expressed confidence that this achievement is of great significance for the entire financial system of Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the bank is ready to work with global financial instruments and has already developed a plan for allocating the received resources. The main task will be to support projects that are strategically important for the economy, such as modernizing irrigation systems and implementing environmentally friendly technologies at large production facilities.

Experts emphasize that access to the Green Climate Fund will significantly reduce the financial burden on the state budget during the implementation of environmental reforms. The new status confirms that local financial institutions can serve as reliable partners for international donors. This historic step transforms "Eldik Bank" into a key "green" financial hub in the region, capable of effectively utilizing international grants and concessional loans for the sustainable development of the country.
